Hey! Can you guys help me out. I'm new here but am looking into purchasing an s2k. I am pretty much sold on the car with one exception....the transmission. I owned a crx back in the day and had experienced syncro problems when shifting between first and second gear. However I was stupid and did a zc swap and used a dx tranny instead of the recommended si trans, so it was probably too much for the trans to take. I also work out at honda as a detailer and always hear techs bitching about installing another transmission on a car. So in my opinion honda has a bad rep for making transmissions. BUT seeing that a S2000 is more of a sports car, I would assume Honda would do a good job building the transmission for a $30k car. I just don't want to spend roughly around $16k to $20k for a car that has trans problems. So, my question is are s2000 transmissions reliable and dependable? Are they going to end up grinding and popping out of gears?? Do you guys have trans problems with your s2k's? Considering that you don't drive like a dumbass all day redlining every gear. But still this is a sports car, it was meant to be driven somewhat hard.
