You can drive the S in teh snow and there are those that do. Most importantly is to get a GOOD set of snow tires.
There are also many that have over 60,000 miles. I haven't heard of any drop in performance if the car has been taken care of.
I haven't heard of any races against a Trans Am per say, but I don't hang out in the 'Street Encounters' section of any forums.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.
