Java, you are basically correct. Both engines have nearly identical power and nearly identical weights. They should perform the same as well. Sorry guys, but 9,000 rpm is only worth bragging rights, and bragging rights don't win races, time-to-distance wins races.
As far as the value of these cars goes this is all reminding me of my uncle and his 1986 Buick Regal with the moster turbo'd engine, the black-out treatment. Was called the Grand National. Was sold in limited quantites, praised in the press, would out accelerate that year's Corvette, yadda yadda.
In other words, its a car, not an investment. Cars lose money. Don't try to speculate on it. Drive it. Enjoy it.
