i can't reach the drain plug from the top.

any name brand jack stands (i would say at least 3 ton) and name brand jack. i have to use the scissor jack to raise the front of my car an inch or so before i can slide my floor jack under it. i'm not lowered.

even if you find that you can do the oil from above, it's still worth it to own this equipment. you can't do the trans and diff from above (well maybe the diff without raising it, if your gumby). there's a lot of stuff you can't do without this equipment.
