The head unit is really annoying, I previous owned an rsxs and a sti, both had 6 cd changers. I am looking to put in a system into my car, head unit with mp3 playback, speakers, bass, etc. Any suggestions? I don't know how to install any of this, and do not trust my friend's handy work. I don't want to go crazy but I do love music, and I spend alot of time in traffic during the weekday, so a good audio system is key. The setup in the s2k is very tight, so please, I welcome anything info, advice etc

Tight setup indeed. Amps are heavy and an important part of a quality system. That said the Alpine PDX series should be the official S2000 amplifier. NO JOKE. They are the newest addition to Alpine and are extremely efficient, powerful, compact and lightweight. Check them out! I may sound all hyped up and that's cause I am! These amps are so powerful! and not just for their size! period INSANE
The whole line up share the same exterior dimensions so you can stack them for multi amp applications. there's the PDX 1.1000 (single channel 1000watt rms mono digital amp), PDX 1.600 (single channel 600 watt rms mono digital amp), PDX 4.150(150 watts rms to each of the 4 channels with a built in digital crossover, i use this in my S2000 and it is ideal. I have 2 channels set to run my component speakers in the doors w/ aluminum tweeters, I don't use or need the headrest tweeters anymore, while the other 2 channels are bridged to run my "10 sub mounted where the tools once were with help from the crossover, all in the same amp!), PDX 4.100 (4 channel, 100 watts rms per channel with a built in digital crossover), and the PDX 2.150 (2 channel, 150 watts rms per channel with a built i digital crossover).
So, if your serious about your music and the weight of your car you'd be insane not to apreciate these amps. Even if weight isn't an issue these are still top of the line amps.
I had the shop Auto Essentials in Thousand Oaks, CA install everything and I'm happy. I was able to see they're work on my friends '04 ZO6 and was comfortable with them working on the Honda.
I would reccomend Alpine's head units as well, they're fully capable, easy to use and have a wide price range.
