Nope not a silly question the slave and master cyclinder dont always go out at the sametime. My slave was still good, but on the wisdom of my buddy like you said its like good policy to replace at the sametime. As far as install it ended up taking 1 1/2 hrs to install both parts by myself with a bleeder kit.I think i could have been alot sooner but it the craft shop opn post theres a lot of motor heads in there so the B.S. can go for days along with smoke breaks.lol
