That "skippin'" sound . . . godda tell ya that's a new one to me. It's the brake n' not the tire on the road that you're hearin'?
I used to think that I was rough on my equipment, but after readin' some of the mileage numbers that some of our site brethren get out'a their tires, I think I may be goin' pansy in my old age. So, I'm not really sure what category of abuse I fall under anymore.
I've got well over 20 thou on my daily driver '04 Stewie n' while my constant gas mileage of 20 mpg says to me that I'm in it a bit, my brakes are still the OEM originals n' last time I checked they're not quite due yet. I figure that I'm gonna be due this year though.
If you are heatin' 'em up as much as you think you are though, I'd agree with you about keepin' a sharp eye on your rotors.
Tires, brakin' systems n' oil pumps take no prisoners.
Be well Blade.

Yeah, it's defineteley coming from the brakes. It's best heard in quiet situations like parking garages, quiet streets, etc. ?? When I apply the brakes it goes away.
