I think it's a good idea to do the oil change ourselves. I have a couple of questions regarding to the oil change. My cars is at 11, 500 miles and an idiot light has not come on. According to the manual the oil change is due at 11,250. Should I have the oil changed anyway?

The second question is - If i change the oil myself, how do I reset the oil life gauge, so that the light comes on at the right time?
