Hello -- maybe I'm just used to Mustangs with the tough old top loader transmission, but the new S2000 I picked up today requires a very conservative (meaning somewhat slow) shift from 1st to 2nd to keep from grinding when up over 8000 RPM. The other upshifts don't seem to have this issue.

Are others out there able to do fast (tire squealing) shifts from 1st to 2nd without a problem?

This new car had 500 miles on it when I bought it, so someone could have possibly damaged the 1st gear synchro.

Other than that issue, I love the car. It's amazing what happens up over 6000 RPM!
