My mom just came down to florida to visit me and my dad and she is a nissan fan. I think the only reason for that is because her nicest car was a 97 maxima 5 spd and it never had any trouble and still is in perfect condition with 145000 miles. Well she wanted to get a 350Z and I've read about them so many times and heard great things from owners but never drove one. So we went to one of the local dealers and they only had automatic Z's, so we went to another dealer and out of 7 Z cars only one was a stick but it was also the cheapest too for around 27 grand which is a pretty fair price for that car with only about 90 miles on it. Mom and the sales associate went out for a test drive and when they came back he told me where I could take it and "test it out" in a large empty parking lot (very good salesman) so I did, and I put it through tests that would measure up with the guys a motortrend. I have to say i was dissapointed overall with the quality of the interior the lack of road feel as compared to my s2k and it really didn't feel as fast as my car. Obviosly it had torque but so does my dad's car (98 bmw 540 6spd) that in a straight line to 60 or 1/4 mile is about a tie with mine and the z did not feel nearly as torquey as my dads therefore even though it had torque it didnt measure up to the 540 or the s2k. It also doesnt look nearly as good as the s2k or the boxster.
Anybody else who has an s2k drive a Z I'd like to hear what you hafta say about it.
