I painted my calipers recently and the hardest part was grinding them down to remove the casting marks. It's a nice project to do but i'd schedule a weekend in case you have to apply several coats.
I also did the decals, installed stainless brake lines and new pads at the same time. I used Savage caliper paint which is available in the UK as an alternative to G2 which can be sourced over the pond.
