I just picked mine up a few weeks ago. Turbo Spa Yellow 01. Trying to drive it as long as I can before the snow gets here.

I bought an 03 back in March, under 12,000 miles, red, mint...now has 20,000. Love driving it, but, I've got it stored already. Tranny's a bit stiff for the cold weather. Guess I'm used to parking a car for the winter. I've had some sort of sports car for many years. Had a 77 280Z, quite good condition, but sold it for the S2K. I wanted something that I could drive, not just look at.

I am going to try to put springs on it from a later year to soften up the ride a bit. Trip across I-90 in southern MN is brutal... We often make a trip from SE MN to SW MN, 3 1/2 hours gets to be tough for my wife. She prefers the Camry or Maxima. We went out to the Black Hills earlier this year, sure wish I could have driven it out there.

Hey Mike, Welcome! Red eh? I heard those were faster, are they? hahaha... Yea I do get rough shifting in cold weather too. Heard it was normal so no worries.

hahaha heard those are fast too but Legend has it that Silverstone is so fast people actually think its a myth. hahahaha

Hey mike I take trips to Miltown too 94w to 90. Drop top is the BEST! Get the wife a dvd player and an indash or visor lcd screen she'll be fine.

I just got my S2000 in November, could only drive it for 2 days before it snowed. Looking forward to spring. I did install the Modifry convertible fix, and it seems to have solved the problem of the top not going down all the way.
Good to know some of you find the ride a little painful over a long trip. My wife and I are planning a trip to Glacier Nat'l park this summer. We'll have to make a few shorter trips before then to see if we can handle the ride for that long. Hate to not bring it with all those switchback mountain roads.

I went out to Glacier Park last year during the week of 4th of July. They had just opened up the road. Kind of weird driving around in 80 degree weather and seeing snow all over the place. It was a blast to drive on this road. Too bad I was driving the wifes TSX and not my S2k.

Thanks for the pic, I know the views there are spectacular. We are going end of June, I called and they said the roads would be open, but I'm sure there will be lots of snow.
I plan on driving through the Beartooth mountains on the way back, which should be a lot of fun also.

Well, selling My 05 RSX-S and planning on getting a 03 S2k. I have a truck for the winter and park the RSX. I got to thinking. If I'm gonna have a winter vehicle, why not have a full on summer vehicle? I've always loved the S2k. I'm looking at it Sat. One question I had though, is there much of a change between the 03 and the 05.

03 was the last AP1. AP2 has a little more torque but doesn't rev as high.
Also a little softer ride and traction control. The AP 1 is a throwback to
the old sports car days. Which is why I drive one.

There are articles on the web that tell much more details about the difference between the AP1 and AP2. I remember seeing a COMPLETE list of difference between each year.

I can't seem to find the article right now, but if you do some digging you'll find a complete listing of the differences.

I've got an 03 that I bought last year, 11,300 miles on it, 20000 now. For me, the ride is a bit stiff (very poor roads on SE Minn) and I'm not 24 anymore (but at least I can afford to buy a real sports car!).

Don't sell the 04-08 car short, even though the Red Line is slightly lower, the power comes in a bit earlier and there is more low end torque. The AP1 has to be above 6000 rpm before the VTEC kicks in. It's very loud (cop caller) but a real rush!! There are also some technical differences in the car that are a part of the manufacturer learning more about the car and improving it. The best examples that I can think of right off the top is that the earier cars had plastic rear windows, then glass.

The AP1's had a bit more problem with the transmission (mostly from abuse, skip shifting) and there were some improvements. Consumer Reports shows a black mark on the transmission for the 03, though I don't think there was any difference between the 00 to 03.

Have fun! I know you'll enjoy any S000 you find. Just watch for modifications that can be signs of abuse.

I have an 02 and it has the sweetest shifting tranny I've ever experienced. And I have owned Porsches, Afla Romeo, Mercedes, etc. Yes the ride puts you in touch with the road, literally and I'm not 24 anymore...I'm 74.

Drove home from work with the top down and running a few errands today, it was over 60. Sure is nice to get the car out. Even spent some time working on it this weekend (changed the rear springs) and washed it yesterday.

I feel sorry for people in places like Hawaii, they just don't have the appreciation for spring like we do!!

Anybody want to buy my custom in trunk box for the S? It sits flushed where the jack storage is. Make me a reasonable offer and you can take it. Carpet matches the trunk and its for a 12 inch sub which is not included. Let me know guys thanks. I need cash for tires and alignment.

My car (2003) came with the speaker mounted similar to your's. Amp is mounted in the spare tire space, but on the left side. Sound great.

Weird thing is, when I bought my car, they replaced the tires with "H"'s rather than the stock "V" rated tire. If you go somewhere to buy tires, they tell you that you can't put anything on that is rated lower than what the car calls for (what you have to BUY), but when it's costing "THEM" money, they can do anything they want!!!

Hope you get your tires....

Damn guys blew my motor. =*( Took it to a shop and stupid *** **** said it was ok to drive home with the oil light on. Well long and behold the engine seized up. They wont pay for it just gave me back 1k and towed my car back. WTF? Tou Fong Towing is the place... stay away!

Yup, they said that the plugs go so hot it melted so they replaced the plugs and spark plus wires & a wire that was burnt. 1,400 dollars for that. Then when I drove off the oil light came on and I asked him about it. He said it was fine and that I can just drive it home. That if anything happens just call. Well the SRS, & oil light was on. I called right away a block away from the shop. Then they refused to fix it saying they never worked on that part of the car. I told them I took it there for them to inspect it and fix everything before I drove off. If it came with no lights on it should leave with no lights on right? Stay away from that shop, its garbage.

Document everything. Note days and times. All paperwork.
Take them to small claims court. It takes a little time, but could save you some money. Don't know what state you live in, so I don't know the maximum you can sue for. I have been to small claims many times and never lost. Once sued Kragen Auto when the distributor cap they sold me caught fire.

Man, just got my car back last night & it got Vandalized. Smashed the front window, pass window, pass fender, door & rear quarter panel. Some guy named Xu Xiong see my post on MN sport compact.

Got the AP2 motor into my AP1 with AP1 ECU, clutch & fly wheel(lighter than AP2). It screams! Too bad its all vandalized. Insurance will appraise on monday for extimate.

Just remember, the Ap1 ECU will let you rev to 9000 RPM but the Ap2 motor won't last long at the RPM.
