Blowoff Valves prevents compressor surges. If your going to get a turbo you should get a blowoff valve. If your getting a Greddy turbo, just get the Greddy Blowoff valve.
The only disadvantage to running a blowoff valve is it can "sometimes" screw with the ECU, causing stalling when the throttle is closed. If you also run with your cat on (which you shouldn't be doing if your running a turbo)when you hit boost spikes it "can possibly"cause damage to the cat.
