It does sound extremely unusual for a Honda engine. I've easily done the same so many times I've lost count without any problems, the fact that you had an oil change recently makes me very suspicious.
On the warranty thingy, doesn't cover labour? Its standard over here to have a 3 year warranty and that covers parts and labour, and even a courtesy car (not that you actually want to drive one of those).
