The Cord was a heckuva car. It had the Wilson pre selector gear shift mounted on the column. Pick a gear and when you are ready to shift, just tap the clutch.

I'd love to take the helm of an Auburn Speedster........just to say I did it.
I was cruising around in a 53 Chrysler a few weeks back with a fluid drive setup in it. (not a big stretch from the Wilson pre-selector) With the old Chrysler, you only have to use the clutch to change direction.
