Best quarter mile times are achieved by dumping the clutch at high rpms (eg 7000rpms).
This should allow the tyres to spin a little before grabbing and providing a quick take-off.
You want the wheels to spin a bit as this minimises the drive train shock, however I cannot recommend many uses of this method as our drive train is prone to failure.
Basically you cant get top launches without ricking something breaking. Perhaps upgrading to a strengthened diff may help if you really want to continue driving that way.
