VTEC issues
I posted a thread a few days ago about my VTEC not engaging. I appreciate everyone's input.
Based on the input I received, I realized that my VTEC is in fact engaging. The car runs well, I can go to the red line with no problems.
What I have recently noticed with my car, which by the way is stock, is that now I cannot feel the VTEC kick in like I used to. I could actually feel a pull at 6,000 RPM, but now that is gone.
As far as the engine sound, it gets louder past 6,000 RPMs, but I cannot hear that roar that people talk about.
What could be causing this? The oil level is fine, the Engine light does not come on, there are no codes, and I have not done anything to the engine.
Thank you very much.
José

After finally breaking in my engine I decided to see what the S2000's VTEC could do. I'll have to admit, it doesn't kick as hard as my old B16A engine. Perhaps because the torque curve on the S2000 is smoother than the B16's.
Jb, a'course I can't say for sure, but it does sound as if you're gettin' use'ta Stewie. It happens with alodda hyperstuff. The first exposures to it r' a big difference from what we're used to n' that registers big-time.
The more we're exposed to it though, we tend to gradually adapt to it n' I've seen it with bikes n' cars both: after some time with even the fastest of 'em we're lookin' for more.
'Glad (but with Mother Honda's track record, not surprised) you're not experiencin' any problems.
Be well,
