Damn! Ain't a good month for elderly auto icons.
I remember when they were doing all the write-ups on the Monster n' Arfons. 'Can't say's I remember all the content, but I do remember, at the time bein' duly impressed with the engine. Too much water under the bridge, but I wanna say it was a J-79, but that seems unlikely. If I'm not mistaken he wound up picking up a wrongly categoried fighter engine for the Monster for a song. But then, I might be mixin' up Breedlove's engine.
'Been awhile n' I'm too @*#&in' stubborn n' computerly inept to look it up.
Yeah. Thanks Art. Ya made life interesting.
'Wonder if the big G's gonna ask for his autograph?
Oh yeah . . us older fellas know, but for the young'uns: the nose wing actually changed pitch dependin' on the pressure on the front tires. The tires (n' the front end) started gettin' light n' the wing would increase downforce.
Don, that's a great shot. Your library?
