I tried changing them to 550's with my 7 lb. pulley and got 15 more WHP, but the driveability suffered. I am back to the stock 360 injectors.
Did you retune with the larger injectors? I don't have any s2k-specific turbo experience, but I know with any other Honda, when you throw in larger injectors, you have to retune for them. If it's set at 1ms for your 300cc injectors (example), then go up to 450cc injectors, you're still set for the 1ms and are actually injecting ~50% more fuel.

It's the reason your CEL was coming on (excess fuel), and why your engine took forever to heat up (excess fuel was cooling the chambers).

Turbo kit is the best bet if you don't mind doing your own work. If you don't, it's MUCH cheaper than an SC and has much more potential.
