Talking 3,000 Mile Update!

Hey guys been a while, I can't stop driving it lol so far I've had her for 2 months and 8 days and I'm at 3,000 miles I haven't had any major troubles except a nail in the tire (bastard) and she's at the dealer today getting an acid wash because I couldn't clay bar the fall out off the paint. But she's great and I'm loving life!!!

Oil change yet? I just got mine done yesterday with 2900 on the clock. I figure it's cheap insurance.

I asked them to but they refused they said it has a break-in oil that had to stay until 4500 miles.....I figured anytime a dealer refuses a quick buck it's prolly the right thing to do

I put roughly 30,000 miles on a car in a year. Course it takes me about 30mins to get anywhere I want where I live.

Kudos...I live in the bay area and I routinely drive the back road home from work. It's a little 2 lane highway that runs about 6 miles to my house. The views are great, turns are tight, and hardly anyone drives it... It's the best way to end the day. Only 10k in 10 months but I redline it everyday.

sonic,
You are right, there is no other way to drive, that's why I got it!!! I do know this guy that bought one and he was unhappy about the rev factor of the car...he was also a bit worried about the engine if you did that all the time but I told him to just relax and put his foot down. He pussed out and got a bmw z4 3.0, his loss!

OMG! Definitly his loss. He spend more money on an inferior car when compared to the S. Wow

not really Sonic. The Z4 is quite comparable on the track with the S if I remember correctly. (I am a Bimmer fan as well as Honda) Still I think the S is faster but not by much.

I watched a car and driver show where they compared the S, Z4, and a Boxster and the S, for lack of a better word, spanked both of them.

Your talking Top Gear and the Boxter won on the track by about 2tenths of a second. So no the S did not spank them. But it was the best choice.

No that was'nt the video I saw. Did I say it was top gear? If I remember correctly in was car and driver. This was on TV not on the internet. Anyway it's not important S's rule all.

Hmmm, Ive driven both, and have to disagree. The Boxter (ok, it was an "s") was funner, more sporty-fealing. . . I have to admit, the only reason I bought the S2000 instead of the Boxter, was the ******* factor.
As for the bimmers, I'm sure they're all-right, they're just so ugly.

naw you didnt say Top Gear I just remember seeing the vid and thinking that was it. Top Gear is mainly a tv show that people upload to the net. I would like to see the car and driver vid that would be cool. Keep in mind though now thats 2 different sources that set the S2000 on top.

And yes the Z4 looks better than the boxter.

well ill bet the S will go longer than the BMW or the Porche. And chances are people that really are drivers would chose the S.

As far as bmw vs porsche I would go the route of Cayman S insead of M Coupe. These were the other cars I was looking at when I got my S2000. I am planning on buying a Cayman S in about 2 years (don't worry I am keeping my S2000 until I break the thing...) because that car is just awsome and you can easily have that tuned to near 911 performance and still come in under 100k. I got the S2000 because I like the soft top and I am using it as my everyday driver. I probably won't drive the porshe everyday and the bmw would be too expensive as an everyday driver given that for 32k I got my brand spankin new S2000. I know that the bmw will rip the S2000 a new one but it is also not as fun to drive for me. The Cayman S has a similar feel to the S2000 but it goes one step further. It is definatley a finesse car that is about carrying momentum like the S2000 where the bmw is about brute force... Anyway, I love all these cars but I can't have them all.

OK! I admit it. The center exhaust is not a nice feature. However: sense of humor is really the only reason I read this forum instead of the other one.
