Not all discoloration is due to scratching. Yes the plastic over the years can tend to go yellow due to UV light exposure.
303 Protectant is useful against UV - think of it as sunscreen for your plastic. It is available most commonly at boating stores.
Once you have your window looking good, apply a bit of 303 every few weeks to help keep it that way.
