Gas Savings, Do the Math...
The price difference between 87 octane and 91 octane gas here in Minnesota is $0.12 per gallon (always has been).
If you do the math, you'll find that the price per mile is cheaper if your car gets just 1 mpg better with the premium when the prices are over $3.50.
When gas was $1.50 per gallon range, it took a difference of over 3 mpg between the two octane grades to make it worth while to buy the more expensive gasolines.
