Paint Detailing

So we had the fire in the hills and the resultant ash fall. I triple rinsed my S a couple of times during that week to get the ash off. Apparently, I didn't do a good enough job and now my clearcoat is etched. It looks like I have water spots. It won't wash off and I even tried polish before waxing and it made no difference. I'm looking into doing the whole clay bar thing, and doing the whole paint resurrection using a quality random orbital buffer and polishing products. Has any one ever used Griot's Garage waxes, polishes and other detailing stuff? They have a kit (buffer, waxes, clay bar, etc.) for $199 that seems to cover the bases for what I need to do. Any input would be appreciated.
