I've talked to about 3 other guys on s2ki that also use nitrous. None have blown their motors. Zex and NOS both have the same safety features. They have a fuel pressure safety switch which will turn the nitrous off if the fuel pressure drops alot. Since dry systems don't put fuel into the intake, it all comes from the fuel pump. They come with connections so that when you activate the nitrous, it pushes fuel through the fuel system and utilizes the fuel return line so you don't run lean. This fixes the 2 main things that'll cause a dry kit to go too lean so its safe. Wet systems do hit harder, but they're the ones that blow engines. Backfiring into the inake manifold and pooling into the intake from a bad fuel solenoid. I'd rather have a safe system than one that hits harder, but is less safe.
All in all, kits now days are very safe. Its when you put too big of a shot on without upgrading stuff, you blow your engine. Stock s2ks with no mods/no timing retard except 1 step colder spark plugs can run up to a 75-80 shot safe with no problems. In all instances, you'll want to upgrade to a 255lph fuel pump, but the stock s2k pump is adequate to about a 75 shot.
People who tell you nitrous "will blow your engine up" saw the fast n the furious and think they know it all from that movie. If they call it NAWZ, they obviously don't know anything cause thats not even how its pronounced. I have had people telling me that stuff all of the time and when I ask them whats the difference between wet and dry, they don't know the difference. That shows how much of an expert they are on nitrous.
