Make sure the maintanence has been done- as with any used car. CarFax might be a good idea. Make sure the spring spacers have been removed.

Depends on what you want from the car. Do you want people to look at the car for the viual effect or for the performance side. Personally, I have done just a few small external mods to set me apart from a stock S and spent more money (the wife would say A LOT of money) under the hood and body. I am not the fastest S and never plan to be, but I do like to have fun at the track and have people ask what did I do to it to make me an E MOD car.
