A basic way to go would be a Comptech or Vortech SC. But, even a bolt-on SC has at least a higher capacity fuel pump and FPR so 'fuel delivery' is changed. If you push more air, you gotta add fuel or else you're just running lean and then BOOM.

A basic SC kit is anywhere form 2500 bucks used (lowest I've seen) to $5-6K new. It will get you 275 to 300whp, depending on the dyno and conditions around 108 traps. Quarter times in the 13.3 range. The performance is in the ballpark of an E46 M3.
