I'm not sayin' that that is r' isn't what it is Wall, but if it was loose lugs I would think that you'd hear it even more frequently when you start r' stop goin' forward.
When you say "tilt the wheel" are you talkin' about turnin' the steering wheel full lock?
What about your brake pads? Could they be so worn as to be allowing the pistons to extend too far which might lead to them cockin' n' lockin' (clickin' n' poppin'?) to be kicked loose when you reversed direction?
