Many factors determine the HP gains and cost. For example:
What type of supercharger?
Aftercooled?
What exhaust/intake?
What size injectors?
What type of ECU?
Upgrade fuel pump?
Self install?

As 2000ISU said I suggest you find a manufacturer (eg Vortech) and check their website for details.

CT SC w/AC was $4000 new, but I found a great deal.

Installed along with my new suspension for $1000.

WHP gained 109.

Nice, the 109 hp gaine, would you say its a huge difference from stock. What cars would it compete with?

Yes, it's a big jump from stock. As for what it would compete with, I have no idea since I do not race people.

I don't think an experienced tuner would require 15hrs to install a SC set up. Maybe including dyno and set up time, but even for that 15 hours seems like an awfull lot. I've heard more like 8hrs for a pro shop to install a SC kit.

15 hours is ridiculous. They obviously do not know what they are doing. There is no dyno needed. You can check the AFR if you want, but if they install it correctly and you do not mess with the exhaust, it will be fine.

I thought there was guide lines that regulated how much time a shop is given to word on certain projects, some kinda check and balance? To keep you from getting ripped off. Maybe this doesn't apply to a SC kit being put on a car?

I hope this helps give a complete picture. This is from my system with prices I have seen (not necessarily the prices i paid). Mine cost a bit more than the low number excluding the install since I installed it myself.

346.1 whp

Keep a few things in mind when considering the total price of an SC. It goes far beyond the cost of the blower kit. The following should give you an idea. If you buy a used kit, you will probably need to add some parts, and run the risk of needing service soon. I made that mistake, and within 200 miles of the install, it had to go back to Vortech...add 800.00

if you use my guide on the low side its 6950.00 not including gauges and problems that may arise. I used the 500.00 for tuning and I think that is very low

1. sc kit 3500-5500 depending on new or used
2. Injectors- if you want higher gains this is necessary 200-300
3. fuel management again higher gains require this- aem ems 1500-1700
4. installation- not for the faint at heart. I installed min myself- it's a big freaking job 1000-1500 from a shop
5. Tunning- 500-1000 depending on the shop and is critical so the car doesn't blow up
6. Gauges- you will want to know things like boost pressure, oil pressure (I still can't believe a car that revs to 9k doesn't come with an oil gauge) 500-1500 depending on where you want to be. I used the AEM serial Gauges 19 functions poer gauge add sensors hook it up to the EMS and you are in business. very clean install and great info a good deal on them is 270.00 each plus the sensors

That just about covers it. If you go cheap it will mess up the outcome. If you don't have the bucks leave it stock. Wanna know what a supercharged S2000 will do? Click the site in my signature for a quick video.

So do numerous other companies.

What do you mean by what would be more "effective"?

im sorry to say but if your s2000 has 180whp then your setup or motor has something wrong with it cause thats way to low, your not gonna tell me 240hp=180whp cause ii dont think a type r thats 195 will be 155whp
