You can experiment with running a different resonator up front... I run the stock s2k front pipe to just behind the stock (front muffler) resonator. Then the (welded-in) Invidia system picks up from there... It;s still pretty loud at WOT... but it cuts the buzz tremendously... and the resulting tone is nice. It's a cheap experiment!

Other folks have played with sound deadening material to minimize buzz... On the S2k infrastructure or on the exhaust itself.
You can search for articles on that...

Run a test pipe it will kill the drone. u we smell it a little and ppl next to u will hear a bit of a raspier note but it will still sound great

Back in the day when I owned an Invidia I added a test pipe and it DRASTICALLY reduced the cruising drone.

Mine has done all the time during curising on the highway too, my frds just hate to sit in my S. In this case, there's always a reason I don't need to give someone a ride, they will drive their's! Haha, and invidia made a good back up for keeping weight down in my S, since the passenger seat is always empty(even my gf doesn't like my S). I'm thinking of removing the passenger seat very soon, since its always empty.
Bro, I know the drone is killing some of us, just get used to it and upgrade your audio unit, good luck.

you guys with drone... why not get the matching test pipe? i had a tp on my car before i got the invidia so i never really experienced the drone all the time that everyone suffers from. if you are on level ground cruising at 3-4,000rpm its maybe 10% louder than stock in the cabin.

the guy i bought it from had a cat and his girlfriend hated it so much she made him sell it... apparently she is a big hippie and wouldnt let him put a tp on his car...

sucks for him but he gave me a good deal so we both won out. he got laid and i got a nice exhaust for cheap.

question for you guys with the duals, did your little invidia "plate" right on the Y crack/break off? when i got it from him it was cracked and a month later i went outside and saw it was hanging by a tiny bit of weld, i just pulled it off... looks better w/o the plate there imo.

No, mine didnt crack at the plate. But it did crack in two different spots on the split!! I had to get it re-welded!!

I just stick the baffle in when I need to shut my invidia up. I wont ever get rid of it though as I still set off car alarms its the best. I was driving down a road at 25-30mph in 3rd gear and went past a Chevy truck no rev nothing just went past and it set off the alarm... I love it.

oh 98% of the time I drive no baffles I personally hate them... but if I ever wanted to be "civilized" I put the baffle in. (You know something like a funeral or a date with someone that has some class...)

funeral? no sweat... keep the rpms extremely low and use very light throttle.

luckily for me all of the funerals ive been to were fellow car guys and my open exhaust buick was just one of dozens of cars running little to no exhaust.

someone with class? f that dude.. i dont want some stuck up high maintenance hooker!

Do you Invidia guys noticed that there is an increase in torque when the baffle/silencer is put on during the low revs?

Can't say that I have but I get better gas mileage with them in.

I'm sure it's probably just because it doesn't sound s good getting on it when they're there

Anyone check that on a dyno

Bought mine from invidia-usa.com
these the link
http://www.invidia-usa.com/Products.aspx?ProductID=139
they claim on their dyno that there's an increase of 10hp and 5 ft pound of torque.

I think that dyno chart is BS. look at the factory dyno that car was a factory freak if it was stock. Does anyone have a dyno they're done with a base line?

I tried the whole week with the siliencer on, and I drive 80% highway, highway speed never over 65 this week, but still, there wasnt a big different on gas mileage, I'm still getting 20MPG this week.
Whats the MPG you got from you N1 dual?

Too bad. If you had posted this a few weeks earlier, I would have given you my N1. Couldn't wait to be rid of it. Bought it for $350, spent $50 to install, drove 20mis, got a massive headache from the drone, spent another $50 to uninstall, sold for $250. Lesson learned the hard way, as is my way.....
