Is it ever too late for medical school?
My oldest brother, 52, is contemplating going to medical school. Back in 1979, he was accepted at every medical school he applied to, but he chose to focus on getting his physics Phd instead. All his degrees are from the Ivy League. Do you think that med schools think that giving a spot in a med school class to someone over 50 is a waste?

its never too late, as long as he has the money to pay for medical school. Seems like he is smart, so he should have no problem. Its getting quite expensive these days to afford medical school. My friend from college has almost $250,000 in medical school loans. There is a great shortage of doctors in the rural parts of america.
6-10 years? I guess if you start from scratch but he won't be. If your brother has a PhD in Physics then I would guess he won't find Med School all that hard. The people I know who have degrees in Physics are really bright. Seems your brother would be custom made for working with people missing limbs or confined to a wheelchair. I have never met an MD that has a PhD in Physics. I have know a number with law degrees and other PhD(s) in specialties that are more med oriented but not Physics. He would be a rarity. Far as age goes. He will be far from the oldest. I think I heard of a lady a few years back that was in her 70s?
