Giving safety advice for street racing is like (pardon for playing off of your analogy) telling your son or daughter than a condom will always protect them from having kids or getting an STD. Yeah, it's safer, but even if you're safe all the time, it isn't always 100% effective.
If someone absolutely has to street race, they should do it in an industrial area, late at night, so when they flip their car 4 times or hit a power pole at 100mph, they have a smaller chance of hurting an innocent person.
Like I said, it would be hypocritical of me to say I've never taken things further than I should have on public roads. I'm by no means perfect. Not even close. But there are lines a sensible driver should know not to cross, both figuratively and literally.
