That's exactly what I was trying (and obviously failing) to get at. In a car like an S2000, 400-500hp should be more than enough for anyone's needs. And you can get that with the F-series motor pretty easily and reasonably affordably.

And without any genuine research to back me up, if you took an average young person who considers themself a car enthusiast a 500hp F20C S2000, and an 850hp 2JZ-GTE S2000 and tell them to take each of them down the 1320...I'd bet that the 500hp car pulls faster times more often.

Reminds me of an old joke Toyota people tell at car meets. "What do a 600hp, 800hp, and 1000hp Supra have in common? They all run low 12's". Obviously not concrete truth, but by and large, fairly accurate in many cases.
