475 HP Projection Detailed Out

JayN,

Thanks for your post. I got Ralph w/SPECTORracing Motorsports that owns the car to answer the questions you had. As listed below:

Currently the S2000 is an SCCA T2 class and NASA Honda challenge class racecar. The car is still street drivable in most states.

It was built originally to participate in promotional activities for SPECTORracing Motorsports.

We?re plan to sell the car before the spring comes in Maine, or we?ll continue to use it for promotional activities during the 2004 season.

The base price as it now sits (T2 class) has been lowered a couple of times recently to $26,950 (from $37,950). (A newer thread that gives additional information and the price reduction can be seen here at http://www.s2000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=237)

The horsepower number of 475 hp is projected; this is what my shop could build the car to (if needed) for an additional cost. This number is also BHP.

To get numbers to the wheels there are several things we can do:

? Use all Motul V300 oils, and other synthetic racing lubricants to lower the parasitic drag.
? Space the brakes from the rotors to again lower the parasitic drag.

Then we would start making modifications like:

? Go w/lighter fly wheel
? 0 deck the heads
? Advance the timing and install an MSD after the VTEC
? Install the complete Vortech supercharger system (fuel rails, pump, etc)
? Install high flow fuel pump (one of the weakest points on S2000 horse power)
? Lighten the pulleys on a CNC
? Port a polish the head and manifold
? Use a "head riser" to lower the compression and increase combustion space
? Then increase the boost accordingly to the lower compression ratio (massive gain)
? Build twin cowl induction ram air scoops with aircraft silicone hose to feed the supercharger enough cold air
? Upgrade the fuel lines to braided teflon coated hose that is double ID thickness. This improves fuel flow and consistency.
? Pull the heads and have the spark plug ports brazed then re-drilled and taped for double plugs (would need spark splitter and second MSD with equal pills)

These are all low to moderate installs that could be contracted additionally with the purchase of the car.

If you have questions about the hp gain for each mod that could be made, Ralph can be reached by phone at 1-888-833-7223.
