A performance ECU may boost the redline a few hundred RPM. I had a Hypertec in my old '95 Z28 that boosted redline from 5250 to 6000 RPM. There were small HP gains from it mainly because it changed the air-fuel mixture and (I think) the timing. I don't know what kind of changes one would do in an S2000, but the power curve begins begins to dip in the low 8's as GoMarlins3 said earlier.

A better buy (and cheaper) might be an intake, like K & N, where it will add about 9.5 HP between 6500-8500 RPM, but not the overall HP.
