front wheel drive in 2003

Someone told me that Honda released a limitted number (1000) front wheel drive s2000's in 2003. I am just wondering if there is any truth to this. I just can't see why Honda would bother spending the money to develop a front drive system for a car that would never have a chance of selling in it's market.

hmm...can't see it myself never heard of FWD on an s2000. Tranny, chassis was all designed around RWD format. Think whoever told you this was having a

no.... never. making a s2k a front wheel wwilll take away one of it's main glories. as being the only us rear wheel and one of the two rear wheel's from honda in the world
