hello i'm new! purchased a white one July 2005. Have 2 Q

1) To minimize fuel consumption, do I keep the gear on 4 or 5 on the highway with high rpm or gear 6 and low rpm?

2) What fuel company and fuel grade is acceptable? (I fill up two times a week and want to minimize expenses. The car is a lease).

Thanks!

6th will get you the best fuel economy at highway speeds. It's the only overdrive gear.

Book says you need is 91 octane. If you run lower, the computer will detect knock and pull timing. For best performance I'd put 91 in it even if it is a lease. I think the difference between brands is minimal at best. I will always reward the gas station with the lower price with my business if 2 are close.

The car is a 4 Cyl.. it gets pretty good mileage.. if you want to save money on fuel, sell the car and buy a bike

For best fuel economy drive moderate. The way I think of it is drive how an automatic transmission would drive. I know a lot of people that drive stick and they just wind the gears. Also stay away from Vtec (6000rpm) if you're looking to save some gas.
