Roof Latched or Unlatched

I posted this on the Battery thread, but thought it might get buried there. I have previously seen someone on here write that he left his top up, but not latched, when storing for winter, as did someone on the battery thread. This seemed like a good idea to me. But was talking to someone with a conv. Camero who said not to, because it would shrink and I would have to make sure it was very warm when I went to latch it up next spring. Now I'm spooked. Both concepts seem to make sense. Anyone stored for a few years that has seen any ill effects?

I really doubt either will make a big difference, You should be fine either way.

I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes for a short period of time. However, I keep my hard top on pretty much year round, and when I take it off it's usually only to go for a drive so I don't put the top up unless I stop somewhere. Whenever I try to put my top back up it's a strugle to stretch it and get it to latch.

I never latch my top when I park in the garage or if I go somewhere. I always put it up when the car is parked, just to keep the dust out, but I never latch it unless I am driving top up. Thats very rare. The latches wear and the top chafes so why bother latching it. I dont think it's been latched down since last winter really.

I say latch it when storing for extended periods, but that is based purely on my opinion and I have no factual data to back this up...

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.
