Serious Questions for a Honda S2000 Wanna-be-driver

Hi there guy?s!

My name?s Toni and I live in Austria. I want to buy a S2000 in Spring 2004 but before that I have some important questions.
I hope you guy?s can help me so I will be in your honored S2000-Driver?s round.

At the moment I?m driving just a VW Bora/Jetta IV

1. Has anybody driven his S2k for more than about 50.000 km?s? I would like to know this because I?m afraid that the engine could not handle the rpm?s for a longer time (although I hope it can!!!)
2. How much refile of engine-oil is normal? 1 litre for 1000 km?s? (like VW TDI?s often use)
3. When does the S2k needs services and about how much will they cost me?

And the most important question: Since I?m living in Austria it sometime snows. In winter we have snow till 25cm?s (o.k. on the street only some milimetres). Can I handle the car even when I don?t have driving skills like Montoya? And how is the handling of the car when it?s raining?

I would really appriciate your help and I hope that your answers will make it easier for me to buy this great car.

1. The dealer said the engine could easely run for 300.000km.
2. After 5000km I need to refil 1L oil
3. I service my car every 10.000km

And an S2k in the snow isn't much fun to drive. The back end goes from left to right , so you really should drive verry slow and carefully.

I live in the Eastern U.S., Lots of rain this summer, the S does well in the rain untill the S-02's get 50-75% tread wear then they get a little scarry at highway speed. oh ya, sucks in snow, may not be to bad with good snow tires.

I have a 03 s2000. I have only had it for a month, but I have been racing for 23 years. I can relate to what coleman said of the rain. If you drive in the rain, just be extremley carefull. The dealer claims no tune up for 105,000 mi. People have checked valve lash at 50,000 and all were within .001". The car will use oil because it is high performance. After initital break in period, (5000k mi., I recommend a fully synthetic oil. In the winter, I recommend 5w-30 for this car.
have fun!!!!
