Any difference betwee 04 and 05 models

My local dealer still has a 2004 (brand new) in stock in which I am interested. I can get a rebate of about 12%. He claims there are no differences between the 04 and 05 model. That might be true for the obvious appearences but are there "fixes" for the engine and drive train that I should be aware off?

And secondly does this look like a good or a bad deal?

Hi,
my answer would be no difference from just looking at it. but there might be minor fixes that people are not aware of. however, i dunno what exactly it is. I will leave this for expert to answer. anyway, for my 04 i am satisfied with it i got the car for 1.5 yrs now, there seems to be absolutely no problem to me, never use the warranty yet, hopefully i will not have to ... .

cheers.

That is a very comforting answer. Chances of buying the 04 S2000 next week are increasing. Thanks for your reply.

No major mechanical differences. You can get more details at Edmunds, if you search for a particular year of car, it has a menu choice that shows all the changes from the previous year no matter how minor.

When you go to sell the car, of course, an 04 will be worth less than on 05 with equal miles, but I doubt this will be as large a difference as the 12% you save today + what you could earn on that money in 3-4 years.

As an aside, the 06, which should be at dealers shortly, will have 'significant' changes, most notably an anti-skid control program.

i got my 04 for 26k, just bc it had 150 miles it was considered used, little better than 12 % but who cares. im 99% positive there is no changes from 04 to 05, i know they changed to carbon syncros in 04 which is awesome, mabye they messed with gear ratios a little but i doubt anyone could tell
