S2000 re-design
Hello everyone,
I am an industrial design student. I thought this would be a great place to receive some great feedback for the particular project I'm working on. The project is to design the next generation S2000. I was wondering what are some of the things that you like or dislike about the current vehicle - mainly the aesthetic aspects of it. What improvements would you like to see? Please send me any comments regarding the S2000 at s2000design@yahoo.com or if you have yahoo messenger, you can add me to your list with the name s2000design and send me some info that way. I'd really appreciate your feedback. It will be key to design the next generation vehicle that true S2000 enthusiasts would love. I will post some of the images of the final presentation once done. |

Here is a question...
Why did you pick an S-2000 over the competition? Was it the looks? Was it the price? Something else? How do you think that the S-2000 stacks up against its competitors? Would you like to see a coup? version of the S-2000 along with the convertible? Are the stock wheels/tires too small for your liking? |

Picked because of rear-wheel drive/stick shift/roadster/small size/performance combination and despite the fact that it's a Honda and not a Ford or Chevy.
I'm not impressed with the looks at all. The nose ain't bad but the ass-end is a mite bulbous. Asthetically, I'd personally like to see the top of the door n' the rear deck somewhere down about 4 to 6 (maybe more) inches lower n' I'd prefer to pay the price of the extra wind-in-the-cockpit that that would involve. And despite all the bitchin' I'm doin' about the way it looks, the car's worth the money: a definite buy. For all intents n' purposes n' usin' the price range as the class/arena determinin' factor, n' as hard as it is for me to admit (it bein' a Honda after all) there isn't anythin' else in it's class, it has no competitors. Coupe? Nah. I don't wanna see it turned into a Ariel Atom, but I don't wanna see anything else that doesn't enhance it's performance added to it. The wheel size, as far as I'm concerned, should be determined by only one factor: which size allows the best overall performance. What can I tell you Gauchito? I'm industrial design trained n' hardened by too many years of engineerin' practicality. In the end you could paint it Chia-pet, weld the doors shut so you could only enter by hoppin' over n' into the cockpit n' put Honda emblems on it n' as long as it goes like it goes . . . well I guess I cast my most important vote with my wallet when I sprung for it, right? Hope all that's been a help. Be well. Oh. It has Honda emblems on it . . don't it? |

design
is would be cool if there was a permanent hard top from the factory, i would have deffinitly bought a hard top over a soft top if it was available, also i have an 04 it would be nice if that still reved to 9000 like the 00 to 03. This car is so worth the money its not even funny, this car shits on all its roadster competition, and its cheaper than about all of em, z4, 350 z, boxter, I'd take my s over all of em

better convertible cover
I would really like to see a better design in the convertible top. It should really have a built in hard cover as oppossed the way is just kind of folds down and then sticks up? I think it should slink down a little further and have either a mechanical hard cover to go over it or maybe a sliding/rolled cover to pull over and lock into place. I think it would make the top easier to cover up instead of the plastic folding trunk cover with the snaps. And it would sure as hell look better. kind of like the new pontiac solstice or the miata. without the whole not being an s2000 holding it back like those 2!
I also think the nose of the car nees to be fuller. it looks great up close and looking straight ahead but to me it makes and odd point when looking from a distance. I think it nees to be a little rounder and deeper in the nose area rather than haveing to slap a front lower lip spoiler on it that looks like a cheap add on piece. mechanically. i think we can all agree it's an awsome car all it needs is LOW END TORQUE! They are smart guys over there at honda! they can figure it out! just find like 60 lbs of torque! is that too much to ask!? |
