New to the S2000
Just bought a 2005 model, a GT model with just 875 miles on the clock.
I got it for ?4200 off list price, because the previous owner found it far too cramped and too gutless at low and medium revs. Well I say it's his loss and my gain because it is brilliant. Not too big inside, I agree, but then neither do I take up too much room at 5/10. I realise that it is probably a bit silly, but I wouldn't mind spending some or all of that ?4200 on improving the car, perhaps a different exhaust system, including getting rid of the cat. and a new intake system and air filter. Or even a turbo conversion? Anyone out there know of any power mods. people have successfully carried out to their S2000? |

Hi Ess;
As you're a new owner, may I respectfully suggest that you familiarize yourself with your new acquisition for a while before even considering any mods. Give yourself some time to learn the attributes it has and discover any shortcomings that you may really feel need attention (and cash) before just spending money for new, shiny stuff that might, or might not, do the job as well as the original not-so-shiny-stuff. After some time driving it, when you're actually starting to make use of what it has to offer, you can be pretty sure that you're not spending money in directions where it wasn't necessary to spend it. Relax. It'll get spent soon enough. Be well. |

Thanks for that.
What are the main improvements people tend to make? |

So many options; so little time. With the topics that we've got posted on this site I don't think there's anything in the way of possible improvements that could be left out. Rather than repeat the same litany over n' over (alright, n' simply to save time) check 'em out n' see if I'm wrong.
Aaay! You're here already, right? Be well, good luck n' keep us posted. (Yeah, keep us posted. Ain't none of us that can't learn from somebody else) |

It's probably my newness to forumming, but I can't find much in the way of tuning shops who work on the S2000, or even any suggestions about getting more power.
Please DO list a few popular mods. Please? |

On the first page alone you've got the following topics:
Brake Upgrade, Comptech vs. J's Racing, Turbo S2K and Exhaust Systems. Check 'em out. The other pages are no less chock-full of mods that run from jus' dreamin' to serious experience with the item. I can't imagine that you won't wind up with a case of serious intake-overload. Enjoy. |
