Used car salesmen

Gday guys/gals,

While looking around at buying some used Honda s2000's this weekend,
I came across a used car dealer (not a honda dealer) who said that his s2000 was under 1000Kg. I think he said it was 985Kg and mentioned something about being constructed of titanium and aluminium.

He said that not all of them are like this and the regular ones are made of metal and are heavier. He said that you car feel this in the bonnet of the car, and that the regular ones have engine problems over 90,000 kms.

I eventually bought an s2000 (but not from him), that was in better condition and for the same price.

What I was wondering was, has anybody ever heard of a different lightweight model s2000? I cannot find any information about this anywhere, I think he just didn't want me to go down the road and look at another s2000 there.

This guy was a moron and a complete liar. I'm glad you didn't deal with such an individual.

Yeah I agree,

The used s2000 was advertised at $47990, had a deep scratch in front bumper of car.

He only wanted to give me Aus$10K as a trade-in on my FTO, but said he could give me $15K on my FTO if he took that off the standard price of the s2000 of $53990. So in effect he wasn't giving me anything. This is supposedly a 5-star rated dealer (Chrysler Jeep).

The prices for trade-in on my FTO at other places was $10K.

After I bought the s2000 from elsewhere, he rings back the next day to ask if he gave me an extra $5000 trade-in if I would buy his s2000, I told him it was too late, as I found one in better condition with lower kms for the same price.
