S2000 changes

Does anyone know where I can find information about the changes that were made, and when, to the S2000 for UK modles. I understand that there have been 4 versions but know nothing more than that.

Thanks

Until someone posts the changes in detail let me say that the 2004 model is much better than the previous ones.

Later models are even more reliable and comfortable but it's the early model from 99' to 02' that is most true on how they intented it to be as a spotscar though.

The 2004-on car is way better. Look it up and see how much they changed the car for the better.

The earlier car did not handle for a start.

You have to be a bit more of a skilled driver for the earlier models but they are more fun, dunno what articles you read.

Here's some links that should answer your question:

MY changes
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/index....owtopic=161997

Differences between USDM/JDM/EDM
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/index....owtopic=205451

Basically (apart from colour combos/choices):
01 model had a clock on the radio.

The 02 model had a glass rear window and some more minor cosmetic changes (eg chrome rings). ECU slightly different.

04 - revised suspension geometry, gear ratios, US got 2.2L motor, more cosmetic changes (eg cupholder different), 17" wheels.

I just asked the Honda mechanic at our local dealer (he also races cars) and he said that the late-model S2000 is overall the better car and by a distance.

Bottom line.
A firm like Honda are hardly going to spend lots of money changing it quite a lot, without making it better !!!

3 people in my area, who have traded up for the late model all say how much better the new car is.

It depends on how you look to the changes but softer suspension isn't going make any faster or racelike in the bends.
They made the newer models softer, for some this will be better in terms of daily use i guess.

The most noticeable changes are between the '03 n' '04 model years.
I don't find it as one is "better" than the other. One (the '04 n' later model)is definitely more "forgiving" than the other.
If you enjoy ridin' on the edge in a twitchier, more responsive car the earlier Stewie's the obvious choice. If you'd rather have that cushion of extra traction that allows you to dance on that same edge without quite as much worry about when the back end's gonna have a mind to race the front end to the next corner, well, then you've just selected the later version.
Which is "better"? To each his/her own. I can't see where anyone could gripe about either one, as time spent with either will have you adjustin' your drivin' n' drivin' abilities to suit the ride you choose.
Personally (I always do this don't I) I can't get interested in a car that, at speed, doesn't require me to be involved in the process that keeps it outa the roadside scenery. If I could I'd have one of each.
Be well.
