Yes there is.
From memory there was C's short shifter kit in the past. But there is also this new one which has had a few good reviews http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=336601 The other common mod is a counter sunk knob, which will shorten the height of the lever. |

Email user Richard Paul (first page of thread) about halfway down?
I'm not sure if he has these for sale yet, it is only a very recent product and the tests were really on a prototype. Maybe he can help you somehow. |

If the bottom of the shift knob ain't buried in the boot, a shifter can always be shortened. Whether it's a wise move or not remains to be seen. Shortenin' the shift arm ALWAYS lessens the leverage you have to shift. SOMETIMES shortenin' the arm makes for frequently missed shifts, the damage inevitably involved n' the most important deciding factor: the embarassment of missin' a shift in front of witnesses.
Unless you have a stock replacement lever waitin' in the wings should your experiment go belly up, I'd think you have more productive areas where your time could be spent. Be well. |
