oil change
What is the deal about not changing oil on a new car for the first 7500 miles.I am used to changing oil on a new engins after 1000 miles.

No need!
it's a waste with the new engines to to change the oil so early as the chemicals in the engine (that burning smell for the first 100 miles) have mostly burned off. also the engine is fully spun and broken in at the factory in japan. it's probably too late now but if you had checked the label on the door frame at the time of purchase you would have seen the date the car left the factory. this date is usually less that a few weeks making an oil change even less of a priority. unless of course your driving anything but a honda/acura...

oil change
Thanks carbon C S.I have a brand new 05.In the past I had an 00 and the story was that Honda used a special oil with additives that properly "honed the metal of the cylinders and pistons in.That supposedly was the raeson for the long oil change interval.
