Comptech or Vortech

Hi

Can anyone tell me which is the better system.
Some say the Comptech supercharger is better and less noisy than the Vortech supercharger.

I want to purchase,ut am not sure which is the better/safer one.

Please feel free to comment

comptech in my opinion, the 2 systems are very similar, comptech is through honda so find out if any warrenty is available if honda installs it, plus it looks much cleaner, both systems offer an after cooler and same type centrifugal super charger so i guess it doesnt really matter which one u get, but i'd forget the sc and go for a turbo s2k

Hi

Why do you say turbo instead?
is it not more risky to the car?
Do you not need to do more serious engine mods, which means more can go wrong???

yes a super charger would be the easier option, and if u can get a warranty def go for it, i dunno im just favorable towards turbo hondas i guess, they have way more potential. anyway if u turbo an s2k you can safely run low boost with out any engine mods and easily be over 300 hp, check out www.full-race.com or www.lovefab.com, the s2k has forged pistons and rods stock so id say anything under 10 psi would be fine

I hear ya Pass, I'm a turbo guy too. But they say s/c are more reliable. I would guess because there are less parts involved. But I have to say that I would still go with a turbo.

good man sips, yea people say that sc are more reliable bc not everyone knows how to maintain a turbo car, especially one that comes naturaly aspirated from the factory, yea turbo s2000, so hot

Hello Everybody!
i'm personally Supercharging my S2000. but I'm not going to stop there..
I am making arrangments to ship my car to California to the guys at Science of speed for there super charger upgrade Package. They Promise me 360 to the wheels. After that I'm going to put a small shot of NOS. I'm thinking 50 shot or maybe a 75.... this should give me over 400 when I need it or when i'm feeling a little Frisky.. Should run about $9000. But I think it's much easier and much mor reliable than repipting your engine and moving stuff to install a turbo!?

Check it out!

There is no computer system (with either setup). There is an ESM that clamps the MAP sensor voltage so the OEM computer doesn't freak out when it sees boost and an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator that blasts the stock injectors with higher fuel pressure to provide more fuel when on boost. This is one of the reasons the SC kits have been so popular: Plug and play (pray?). There is no tuning involved such as you would need for an EMS.

That said, I still think it is worthwhile to run the car with a wideband on there and measure the A/F.

I'd be curious to see what kind of fuel system SOS runs for a total package price of $9 grand to be able to handle a 75 shot. Some people have reported on S2ki that the stock injectors are already >75% duty cycle at stock boost (~5 psi for Comptech with AC).

fuel Management.

I'm actually installing the SuperCharger at my shop. it's going to run me $4600 installed. with the aftercooler. that'll save me about $1400. and the SOS kit is around $3800. brings me to $8400 plus shipping and tax.. but i'm still working on that.

Stock is 4-5 psi. not the highest thing. you can get higher pulleys but the Comptech unit won't adjust the fuel system. it just kind of fools it.

Simply fooling the Stock ECM is not enough when trying to force more fuel and air into the engine. although the device supplied by comptech does the job. when you add a higher boost pulley and the fuel doesn't adjust accordingly you have a performance loss that needs alittle tuning. Having the fuel managment system will allow you to replace the Comptech unit and dyno tune the car much more efficiently. adjusting fuel. SOS installs new injectors with the system and although i'm not crazy about them replacing the ECU in my car!? I'm willing to take the risk since I can check codes and fix things with my HDS.
As far as the NOS goes.. well I have a friend who turbo's his car and blew the engine with a "300 shot of NOS". quite a sight from what I understand! however.. .he ran 150 on it for 2 years and used it regularly without a problem. I'm not brave enough for that but i'm going to give the 75 a go..

any ways.. wish me luck!
