2006 Hardtop - cost including installation?

I just bought an '06 (Laguna Blue), and I asked the dealer how much the hardtop is installed, but couldn't get a straight answer. The guy said "Uhhhh...it's about $2500 installed", but that sounds too low. I know there are some interior hardware mods that must be done before the hardtop can attach on older S2000s. Has anyone either bought the hardtop from the dealer installed (and what it cost), or bought one and did the modifications themselves (and how much of a pain that is). I have a PDF of the factory hardtop installation guide, and it looks like a fairly complicated job (I think you even need a special tool). Thanks for any help!

I insisted my hard top be installed before I took delivery. It cost me $2000 for the top and $1000.00 for installation. I have never regretted buying the top.
