It's all relative to what you want... there is no "best." I use the Spoon snorkle, Spoon TBA, and a K&N filter, and I love it. Throttle response has improved immensely... Unfortunately, being that any gain I get is at speed, there is no accurate way to Dyno specific gain in HP.

I can't vouch personally for any as I have not tried any...but
in this article they found that the standard air box was pretty good. http://www.autospeed.com/A_0911/cms/article.html I have posted a little of the article below.... "While the people who had previously played with new filters had thought that they were onto something, as we've shown time and time again at AutoSpeed, it almost always works better if the factory filter is retained and a new cold air intake duct placed into the airbox. And that's just what Chris Romano did, removing an internal baffle in the box, leaving the standard over-bonnet intake in place and adding large diameter convoluted tube picking up air in front of the radiator. And the power responded again, rising to a rousing 195hp at the wheels, a further improvement of 8hp, or 4 per cent." M@ |

Sotty, but on my opinion, if men putting cold air intake system, there are only one target: to get more power/speed and get nice sound. Isn`t ?

Air Intake
From what I have heard, AEM is the way to go. I personally used and AEM on my 99 Civic Si and it was wonderful. The bypass valved is highly recommended!! In case you don't know, in a nutshell, it prevents water from entering your intake manifold (destroying the engine). In my opinion, it is worth the $40 or so dollars. :P

I know what does the air bypass valve do. But I don't how does this thing knows when water gets into intake pipe.

Air Bypass Valve
When the AEM gets restricted, doors in the air bypass valve open. Basically it acts as a temporary air intake system located much higher than the AEM's filter. Air is brought through these doors, preventing the water from getting sucked into your engine. Basically, think of a straw. You suck a liquid through it. Try punching holes through the straw midway up. Then try sucking water through the straw. Obviously, you may still be able to suck liquid through the straw being that the diameter of the straw is small. I have seen test delivered by Sport Compact Car and they say the AEM bypass valve is a sure thing and highly recommended!! That is my $.02. I hope this answered your question.
