Ticking Sound?

I have a 2001 "S" with about 63,000 miles on it. Lately it has been making a valve like ticking noise at idle through first. Very low pitch noise, similiar to the sound of running low on oil. Anyone heard this? I believe the valves are self adjusting, but I also have heard they can be adjusted and should on higher mleage S's. Is this possibly what I am hearing? Also, lately, (and i hope they are not related) but I have had a lot of hesitation when taking off. Almost stalls sometimes. But it is inconsistent, sometimes runs great, sometimes acts like it's about to stall. Any advice is welcome. thanks.

i'm having the same problem too... take it to the dealer!

The valves/tappets do need adjusting occasionally and is listed as an item to do under some of the major services.
