iPod interface

Just bought my '02 S2000, and saw that Honda now offers an iPod interface for the stereo. Is this something I can retrofit my car with, or is the stereo different? Anyone out there have any experience with this setup? Thanks.

i was told by my local dealer that the ipod interface can not be used for any other year than '06...i think you can buy the '06 HU and then itll work but do not know for sure....anyways if you are gonna buy another HU better to get a good one instead of a crappy stocker...

Actually, I guess I'll answer my own question. Went to Best Buy and bought an interface that plugs into the back of the stock HU. It goes into the socket for the CD changer. Anyway, it allows you to use the audio controls on the HU or on the dash to control the iPod... pretty handy. I stashed the iPod under my seat, out of sight, and use the dash controls. Very handy interface, although it was $200.

They work like a champ, actually. The only thing I don't like is that when you turn the car off, it switches the iPod off, and then you have to press play again when you get in the car. The "Channel" button on the dash acts to move the iPod to the next track, and the CD changer controls on the HU work to move the tracks fwd or back, as well as ffwd and rewind. The rig is called the iPod2Car by Peripheral. Hope this helps.
